Is it legal to install my own sprinkler system in Texas?
Yes. Texas lets you install an irrigation system at the home you own and live in without an irrigator's license (not rentals). The design and any paid work must come from a licensed irrigator — exactly what our package provides. Some cities also require a permit and inspection; we flag what your town needs.
How much does a DIY sprinkler system cost?

How many sprinkler zones does my yard need?
Zone count comes from your water supply, not just square footage. Your meter size and pressure set how many gallons per minute you can run, which sets heads per zone. A typical Panhandle backyard runs 2–4 zones; a full yard 5–8. We calculate it exactly in your design.
How long does it take to install your own sprinkler system?
Most homeowners finish a backyard in a weekend and a full yard in two, with a rented trencher doing the heavy work. Your instructions are in the order you'll actually work: trench, mainline, manifold, laterals, heads, flush, then nozzles.
Do I really need a backflow preventer?
Yes — Texas requires one on every system connected to drinking water, and it keeps sprinkler water out of your home's water. It's also your system's shutoff if a leak develops. We strongly recommend our flat-rate install, done and tested by a licensed tester.

Do you ship sprinkler kits outside the Amarillo area?
Yes. We deliver throughout the Texas Panhandle at $2.75 per mile one way, and we ship complete kits anywhere in Texas. Because your design is built remotely from photos and measurements, distance doesn't change the quality of the plan.
What sprinkler equipment do you use?
Contractor-grade Rain Bird — the same heads, valves, and controllers we install on our own jobs, not thin box-store parts. As a Rain Bird Select Contractor, that's what we trust.
Do I need a permit to install my own system?
Some Texas cities require a permit and inspection for irrigation work. We flag whatever your town requires when we build your design, so there are no surprises.
What if my yard is large or has several areas?
No problem — front yard, back yard, side strips, and bed or drip zones are all part of the design. A bigger yard just means more zones and parts, priced accordingly.
How do I measure my yard?
Walk it with a tape measure, or send us satellite measurements and we'll help you pull them. Your meter size and water pressure matter more to the design than exact square footage.
