Spring Sprinkler Start-Up + Tune-Up

Spring Sprinkler Start-Up + Tune-Up in Amarillo TX

The first warm Saturday in March, half of Amarillo walks out to the garage, flips the controller to auto, and finds out what the winter did. A geyser in the front yard. A zone that will not shut off. A backflow preventer that sprays sideways. That is the start-up we would like you to skip.

Amarillo Lawn Sprinkler turns systems on the right way. It is one of the most-requested calls we get every spring. We bring the water up slowly so nothing bursts, walk every zone, and fix what needs fixing while we are standing there. You get a system that runs correctly from the first day of the season, not one you babysit until June.

Why spring is when systems fail

Ice does the damage in January. You find out in March. Cracked fittings, split pipe, a backflow that froze because it went into winter holding water. The start-up is where those problems surface, and catching them on our visit is a lot cheaper than finding them by the water bill.

Tune-ups any time of year

A tune-up is the same inspection without the season attached. If your lawn has brown rings, a zone has lost pressure, or the controller has started doing its own thing, call for a tune-up. We handle all brands and have been reading Panhandle sprinkler systems since 1974.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When should I turn my sprinklers on in Amarillo?

A: Once the overnight lows stay reliably above freezing, usually late March into April. Turning on early and catching a late freeze is the most common spring mistake we see.

Q: Can I just turn it on myself?

A: You can. Opening the supply slowly matters, and so does watching every zone run. If you would rather we do it and fix what we find, that is what the start-up is for.

Q: What if you find a problem?

A: We tell you what it is and fix it the same visit when parts are on the truck. Bigger jobs get an estimate.

Q: Do you reprogram the controller?

A: Yes. We set spring run times, your permitted watering days, and seasonal adjust so you are not watering like it is August in April.

Q: Is this the same as a repair visit?

A: A start-up is preventive. A repair visit is for a known problem. The start-up often finds the repair before it becomes a problem.
