Drip Irrigation Installation

Drip Irrigation Installation in Amarillo TX

Spray heads are built for grass. Point one at a flower bed and you water the mulch, the fence, the brick, and the sidewalk, and the roses still wilt by 3 pm. In a city with watering restrictions and 20 mph wind, that is a lot of water going somewhere other than the plant.

Amarillo Lawn Sprinkler installs Rain Bird drip irrigation that puts water at the root, slowly, where the wind cannot take it. Beds, gardens, shrubs, trees, planters, and foundation lines all do better on drip. We add it to your existing system as its own zone or build it into a new install.

Sprinkler Drip Installation

Rain Bird drip only. Pressure-regulated zones, a filter at the head of every drip line, inline emitter tubing for beds, and point-source emitters for trees and containers. Every drip zone runs off its own valve so it waters on its own schedule, not the lawn's. We source current Rain Bird equipment through our distributor for every job, and all of it is covered by our 3-year warranty.

Converting a spray zone to drip

Most Amarillo beds are watered by spray heads on the same zone as the lawn. We can convert that zone, or split it, so the bed gets drip and the grass keeps its heads. Rain Bird makes retrofit kits that fit existing spray bodies, which keeps the job quick and the trenching to a minimum.

Serving Amarillo and the Panhandle

Drip installs run across Amarillo, Canyon, Bushland, Hereford, Dumas, Pampa, Borger, and the rest of our 17-town area. Commercial properties, HOA common areas, and church landscapes are regular drip customers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does drip irrigation count under Amarillo watering restrictions?

A: Drip is generally treated more favorably than spray because it does not waste water to wind and evaporation. We set your drip zone to comply with the current city schedule either way.

Q: Will drip work on my existing sprinkler system?

A: Yes. We add a drip zone to your controller and valves, or convert an existing zone. No new controller required.

Q: How often does drip need maintenance?

A: flush the lines and clean the filter once or twice a season. We can do it during a tune-up visit.

Q: Will my plants get enough water?

A: More than they do from spray. Drip runs longer at a lower rate so the soil soaks instead of sheeting off. We size the emitters to the plants.

Q: Does drip need winter protection?

A: Same as the rest of a Panhandle system: shut off the supply before a hard freeze and protect the backflow. No blowout needed in our climate.
