Sprinkler Freeze Protection + Freeze Damage Repair

Sprinkler Freeze Protection + Freeze Damage Repair in Amarillo, TX

One hard freeze with water in the wrong place and you are buying a new backflow preventer in March. In Amarillo that freeze shows up fast, sometimes the same week you were still mowing.

Here is the straight truth about winterizing sprinklers in the Texas Panhandle: our systems do not need the compressed-air blowouts you read about online. Those are for northern climates. What Panhandle systems need is a proper shutdown, and most of it you can do yourself. We would rather tell you that than sell you something you do not need. We have been taking care of Panhandle sprinkler systems since 1974, and this is how we do it.

Sprinkler Repairs

If the freeze beat you to it

Every spring we meet the systems that went into winter with water in them. The usual suspects: a cracked backflow, a split pipe under the yard, a blown valve, heads that pop but do not spray. If your system came out of winter doing any of that, this is the repair work we do all spring, every spring.

*Cracked or leaking backflow preventers, repaired or replaced

*Split and broken pipe located and fixed, including under hardscape

*Valves that stick open or will not open at all

*Zones that lost pressure over the winter

We service every brand in the Panhandle, no matter who installed it, and we tell you what it costs before we start.

Serving Amarillo and 17 Panhandle towns

Amarillo, Canyon, Bushland, Hereford, Dumas, Pampa, Borger, Dalhart, and the rest of our service area. If a hard freeze is in the forecast and you are not sure your system is ready, call before it gets here, not after.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do Amarillo sprinkler systems need a compressed-air blowout?

A: No. Blowouts are standard in northern states. In the Panhandle, shutting off the supply, draining the backflow, and insulating it handles the freeze risk for properly installed systems. Anyone selling you an annual blowout here is selling you geography that does not apply.

Q: I forgot to shut my system down and we got a freeze. Now what?

A: Shut off the irrigation supply now, open the backflow test cocks, and wrap it. Then watch for leaks when things thaw. If you see water where it should not be, or a zone acting wrong in spring, call us.

Q: When should I shut my system down for winter?

A: When your lawn stops needing regular water, usually late October into November. Watch the forecast; the first hard freeze does not send a save-the-date.

Q: Do you fix freeze damage on systems you did not install?

A: Yes. All brands, any season, since 1974.
